The 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup will be the tenth edition of the Gold Cup competition, the association football championship of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF). It will be contested from July 3 to July 26, 2009 in the United States. This competition will be the fourth tournament without guests from other confederations. |

The league was formed in 1996 as the women's counterpart to the NBA. League play started in 1997 and the regular season is played from May to August with the playoffs starting in late August running into September. |

The 2009/2010 UEFA Europa League will be the first season of the UEFA Europa League, the competition previously known as UEFA Cup, which has been in existence for 39 years. A total of 193 teams from 53 UEFA associations are expected to participate in the 2009–10 UEFA Europa League. Countries are allocated places according to their UEFA league co-efficient. Also 10 losers from the Uefa CL play-off round and 8 third placed group stage teams will take part in this new format. |
